Confessions of a Scrunchie Convert
I was once in that pool of women who said they could never jump on board with all of the 90s fashion trends that have made a come-back. I was proud to have survived that decade and all of the fashion atrocities that it produced, and had absolutely no interest in reliving any of outfit choices I made during those years. That was true until the day that I picked up one black velour scrunchie in the check-out line of my local H&M. I was curious about the scrunchie after my hairdresser had told me that wearing one results in less damage to the hair compared to conventional hair ties. I admit that I was also mildly attracted to the rich -looking texture and shine of this scrunchie and figured I’d try it out. Several weeks later, I found myself buying a 12-pack of blush-colored scrunchies on Amazon because 1 or 2 or even 3 are just not enough. They hold up my hair in a ponytail much better than any other hair tie I’ve ever owned, are gentle on my colored tresses during the day and at night, feel soft to the touch, and beautifully adorn my haircare drawer in my bathroom. I can’t say enough good things about the scrunchie. How about you? Are you pro or anti-scrunchie?
