Fall & Winter Survival Kit

It’s the most wonderful time of the year with the winter holidays just around the corner and the lights strung up on city streets. Thanksgiving is fast approaching and my old stomping grounds back east already saw their first snow this week. As the temperatures cool and the wind picks up, I am looking to my cold weather arsenal to keep me feeling my best inside and out.

Glossier Cloud Paint

Your skin is surely feeling a bit more dry and dull these days. Swap your powder blush for one of these gel-cream blushes which are infused with collagen to make your cheeks look plump and hydrated. If you can’t choose which color to get (and trust me, they’re all amazing), I recommend “Dusk,” a stunning and subtle brownish nude that will make your skin look sun-kissed. Also, these last forever and blend into your skin seamlessly!

Harney & Sons Decaf Vanilla Comoro Tea

This decaffeinated vanilla-flavored black tea makes for a perfect treat any time of day. I especially enjoy drinking it at night just before bed. Sweeten it with a touch of honey and cream—you won’t regret it.

Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Organic Lip Balm

Are you a lip balm connoisseur like myself? Then you must try this cooling balm with jojoba, avocado and hemp oils by Dr. Bronner’s. It glides on easily unlike those other waxy formulas at the drug store and instantly softens your lips! I intend to keep one in every coat pocket during this fall and winter.

REI Co-op Down Jacket

If there ever was a Portland staple for the cooler seasons, this would be it! Everyone in town has some version of this down jacket and for good reason. It’s lightweight, warm, and packable (it squishes down into the size of a grapefruit in your suitcase). It’s as perfect for running errands in the city as it is for skiing down a mountain. Practical and stylish.

Universal Thread Beanie

I have been wearing this cozy beanie from Target for weeks now and I am always surprised by how well it goes with all of my outfits. The oatmeal color is a perfect neutral and the pops of orange, red and black update the look in a fun, but subtle way. Good news is that it’s also super affordable!

Pumpkin Mask final.png

Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Dry skin? No problem. Try this fast-acting mask, which contains pumpkin enzymes, alpha hydroxy acid, and aluminum oxide crystals to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a smooth complexion. It also smells like a pumpkin pie!

rosehip oil final.png

Radha Rosehip Oil

Favorite face oil of life. This rich, amber-colored oil fades scars and age spots, treats rosacea and acne, and moisturizes my skin better than any other oil or cream I’ve ever used. I particularly like this high-quality organic one I found on Amazon by Radha Beauty. I use it immediately after the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask to soothe and hydrate my skin and also right before I go to sleep each night.

Ralph Lauren Madisen Riding Boots

These classic, low-heel riding boots in black have been a staple in my closet. They’re perfect with skinny jeans and dresses. I appreciate the simple hardware and logo details that never overpower the rest of my outfit. These boots are absolutely pinnable.
