An Ode to Cardigans

Not to be mistaken with the popular Swedish rock band.

If you ask me, the key to perfecting an outfit is to throw on a cardigan. Sure, it may not be as sexy as red lipstick or a patent leather pump, but as a modern woman living in a world of overly air-conditioned office buildings, I choose utility. The cardigan is a versatile staple and in my opinion, one of the most underrated articles of clothing. I have one in every color and style, but I usually gravitate towards that classic, button-to-the-top version that Meg Ryan wore in almost every scene of You've Got Mail. It's smart and casual, but put together. 

Wrap the sleeves around your shoulders for a more sophisticated look

Or wrap the sleeves around your waist for that summer-in-the-park look.

You can also leave it open and scrunch up your sleeves for a more relaxed look or button it all the way up for a conservative look. In short, your outfit possibilities are infinite with a cardigan and you'll never get cold in the refrigerated aisle of the grocery store.
